A Cool Way To Use Flowers As A Valentine’s Day Gift.

Can Valentine’s Day be celebrated without flowers? Short answer is ‘no’. We cannot even imagine Valentine’s Day without flowers, especially red roses. Among all flowers, red roses remain my favorites because they are not only associated with love but are also able to fill any place with their exquisite fragrance.

Every year on Valentine’s Day, I usually send my wife at least a dozen roses; sometimes, even two dozen! As soon as I handover the roses to her, she cannot help but smile at me with her lovely lips!

However, if you are fed up with the same old-fashioned roses and want to buy something different for your partner, then there is help for you. Instead of buying conventional red roses, try the “Black Magics!” Black Magics are not only beautiful, but a class apart in their elegance; plus they look completely different from the conventional roses as their petals are of dark red velvet color. All in all, I personally believe that Black Magics are the only flowers which could match the elegance and beauty of red roses!

Some people prefer to send a mixture of different flowers to their sweethearts instead of just one. If you are of this type, your local florist should be able to help you select the best varieties and colors of flowers for this purpose. If you want, you can even send her a small plant with a blooming flower, or a flower basket. Or you can also buy her a tall vase containing tulips or Calla Lilies! All in all, there is no dearth of ideas if you want to surprise her with something extraordinary!

If you have decided on sending her a flower basket, I won’t recommend sending her an empty basket.. Have you heard of Gourmet Gift Baskets for Valentine’s Day? These gift baskets could contain anything and everything ranging from candles, chocolates, lotions, snacks, coffees, etc.

If she is an animal lover then you could even add Plush Animals to the basket; if she loves balloons then adding them is also an option. Make sure to put only those things in the basket which are either her favorites or you feel would please her; if in doubt then ask your local florist for ideas!

Thankfully you won’t have to carry the gift basket back home because most professional florists offer home delivery services if you order the basket ahead of time, at least a couple of weeks before Valentine’s day. To make the basket even more special, you can attach a romantic message to it!

Flowers remain on of the best and most affordable ways of celebrating Valentine’s Day. With the right ideas and flower arrangements, you really cannot go wrong! If you are a woman reading this article, note that men also love flowers as much as women do!

3 Valentine’s Day Gifts Women Want!

When it comes to Christmas or New Year, our feelings are almost always universal. But Valentine’s day is a different day. When the Valentine’s day comes, different people have different reactions. Men who are not in a relationship are happy because they don’t have to dole out big bucks in order to purchase expensive gifts for their sweethearts, but at the same time they are also sad because they have not found a soulmate yet.

On the other hand, men who are in a relationship have, a different kind of problem. They are not as happy as they are supposed to be, because they know that they have to spend big bucks to please their sweethearts, be it in the form of romantic dinners at a five start hotel or buying a bunch of expensive gift items!

Women, on the other hand, are happy: not only do they have their man pampering them for the whole day, they would also receive great gifts from their partners!

Valentine’s Day is not only about expressing your love for your beloved but also surprising her. Obviously, you cannot surprise her with boring flowers and Valentine’s Day cards because she already expects those conventional gifts from you! So this article is about some of the extraordinary things you could do to sweep your partner off her feet!

1. Buy her some jewelry: Okay, I know your heart is beating fast at the mention of jewelry, probably because you don’t have enough money to buy the kind of jewelry your beloved would expect from you. While it is true that you should always try to cut your coat according to the cloth available to you, the fact remains that the more expensive a gift is, the more it is appreciated by women! And this fact is particularly true of jewelry!

2. Pamper them:  Another thing women love is being pampered by their partners. Now pampering doesn’t simply mean cuddling or love-making; on Valentine’s Day, they expect more from you than just that! You can take her to an exotic spa and get her a special massage, pedicure, manicure or even a simple facial.

Of course, the more you pamper your woman, the more she will be pleased (and the more deep holes you would burn in your pocket).
3. Romantic dinner at a classy hotel: Yes I know that visiting an expensive restaurant is not the ‘kind of thing your budget permits’, but hey, if you really want to please your woman, you better go for a five star restaurant where all kinds of facilities are available, including a bar full of intoxicating wine. Make sure to buy her a romantic dress as well if you wish to win her heart this Valentine’s Day!

2 Simple and Easy Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas!

Some people cynically say that the Valentine’s Day is just another day commercial businesses use to make money. However, this is not true at all. I am sure everyone will agree that love is something which is worth celebrating at least once in a year. With that in mind, I am going to list some great gifts you can buy your Valentine this year!

So far as the origin of Valentine’s Day is concerned, many legends abound, some of which may or may not be truths!

Historians believe that as early as 4th Century B.C., young Roman boys and girls indulged in a cruel and abhorrent practice. The boys would carve the names of the young girls on a box. The young boy would then indulge in sexual activities with the girl of his choice. Needless to say, this was an abhorrent practice and was banned by the Church some eight hundred years later. As an alternative, it found in St. Valentine the perfect patron of love.

Now there are varying theories regarding St. Valentine. Some people say that when St. Valentine was imprisoned for daring to defy Roman Emperor Claudius by secretly getting couples married, he fell in love with the daughter of the jailer. Just a day before he was supposed to be put to death, he wrote her beloved a note which was signed “From Your Valentine”. That was how the custom of Valentine’s Day started!

Another version says that since St. Valentine was beheaded on 14th February, the day was announced to be the day of lovers, as a mark of respect to the patron saint of love.

Regardless of whatever the legends say, we all know that Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, and if you are not ready to do something fantabulous for your ladylove, then you really don’t deserve her love. Here are just a few fun gift ideas to get you started!

1. Jewelry: Jewelry has always been a women’s weakness, and if you could gift her a diamond ring, then you could win her love for life! Ask your jeweler to carve something really romantic on the ring, something like St. Valentine wrote: “From Your Valentine”. It would really make your gift look special to her!

2. Dinner: You neither need to spend too much money on a romantic dinner nor wait patiently at a restaurant for hours! Why not cook something at your home instead? It doesn’t have to be anything complicated. Make sure that you decorate your dinner table with fragrant candles, rose petals, and a fancy table cloth. Also don’t forget to include a sweet dessert such as chocolate in the dinner; in fact I would go so far as to inscribe my love message on the chocolate itself, so that my partner sees it as long as she is eating it!

Must Have Romantic Songs for Valentine’s Day

First of all let me tell you that this article lists only my wife’s three favorite songs for Valentine’s day. There are many love songs out there which are not covered in this list. I compiled this shortlist based on the songs my wife loves to listen on Valentine’s day. So here you go.

1. Song name: Someone to Watch Over Me

Written/Composed By: George and Ira Gershwin

Release Year: 1926

One of the oldest romantic songs popular among lovers even today, it was originally supposed to be rendered in a fast-paced manner. Later it was converted into its present ballad form, for it was thought that the ballad form suited the lyrics better.

This song is so popular that it is rendered every year, and it has the unique distinction of being rendered by almost all the top singers of all times, including Frank Sinatra, Elton John, Queen Latifah, Judy Garland, Rosemary Clooney, Sting, etc., to name just a few. Your Valentine’s day would be incomplete without this song!

2. Song name: Unchained Melody

Written/Composed By: Alex North and Hy Zaret

Release Year: 1936

This is yet another must-have song for Valentine’s Day. Zaret is the pen name of William Stirrat, who composed this song at the tender age of 16, owing to his longing for sexual love. Actually, William was too shy to approach any girl, and this song was composed at a time when he was really pining and yearning for romantic love with the girl of his dreams.

The melody for this song was given by Alex North who is more famous for his musical scores in movies such as “Cleopatra” and “Spartacus”. It first appeared in 1936 in “Unchained” and was nominated for the Best Song Oscar Award!  This song is considered to be one of the best and most beautifully told tales of romantic love.

Over the years, it has been rendered by many eminent artists, of whom special mention maybe made of Elvis Presley, the Righteous Brothers and Jimmy Young!

1. Song name: In Your Eyes

Written/Composed By: Peter Gabriel

Release Year: 1986

This is obviously a more recent song but equally great as the two older classics. In fact some people claim that it is the best romantic song ever recorded! It uses unusual lyrics and choirs to convey the strong passion of love; it even touches on the subject of spiritual and metaphysical love. It is a song from Peter’s album “So”. It is said that Cameron Crowe, director of the film “Say Anything”, paid almost two hundred dollars to get this song included in one of the scenes of his film!

2 Fun Valentine’s Day Games You May Not Know About.

A Valentine’s Day party without games is like eating salad without its delicious topping or a pizza without its cheese! In short, games and Valentine’s Day party are inseparable! Whether you want to pass time, enjoy your time with your sweetheart or amuse your friends and guests, these games are perfect!

Games play a crucial function at a Valentine’s Day party! It acts like an ice breaker by entertaining and amusing your party guests. When your party guests are entertained, they feel more at ease with themselves and their host! However, you need to select the best games based on the age-group of your party guests or the games would act as a complete party dampener.

For example, you won’t want to have kids’ games at an ‘all-adults’ party or adults’ games in an ‘all-kids’ party! Sounds like plain commonsense I know, but if I wouldn’t have noticed people making such silly mistakes, I wouldn’t have mentioned it here! Assuming that your chosen games are tailor-made for your party guests based on their age-group, here are some tips on which games to play to create a romantic and lovely ambience at your Valentine’s Day party.

1. Game#1: The Chin game: This game is a bit tough but also very amusing, which is why it remains my top favorite. First, create a heart-shaped pillow or have someone do it for you. Then divide the participants in five or six smaller groups and ask each group to stand in a circle. The rule is that each group’s members must pass the pillow to the other, but WITHOUT using their hands!

Each group’s members should hold the pillow in-between their chins and chests and then pass it along to the next group in similar fashion; the next group’s members also have to receive the pillow in between their chins and chests.  As you can imagine, this game is quite exciting enough to keep your guests extremely tensed up. But that is not where it ends!

In the process of passing the pillow, if it falls on to the ground, once again one would have to pick it up without using their hands! Then the game would start from scratch all over again! The group which first successfully passes the pillow from first to the last group becomes the winner!

2. Game#2: Keep them guessing: Just imagine how fun would it be to keep your guests guessing the answer to something simple! You can, for example, fill up a glass jar with several candies and then ask your guests to count them; the one whose answer matches exactly or at least comes closest to the right answer becomes the winner. The winner takes away the jar full of candies!

Before starting the game, make sure that you know the right answer by counting those candies beforehand (you won’t want to look like a fool in front of your guests, would you?).

This game can also be played with other types of foods such as biscuits, cakes, etc. In case of biscuits, you may ask your guests to count the number of biscuits in the jar, while in case of cakes, you may ask them to guess its weight!

2 Valentine’s Day Love Quotes You Cannot Do Without.

Do you want to create a special Valentine’s day card for your sweetheart, but don’t know where to start? You don’t probably want the language of your card to be mundane and commonplace, but your problem is that you don’t know how to write romantic poetry either! If this describes you then there is nothing to be worried about.

Remember that even the smartest of Casanovas have used the great poetry of classical poets to woo their beloveds, so why cannot you? In this article I will list two great love quotes you can use for your Valentine’s day card!

1. Love Quote#1: “Love those who love you“- by Voltaire

Are you sure that your partner really loves you or is just being a parasite feeding on your strengths? In life, we would generally meet two kinds of people: one who would melt your heart by confessing their love loudly, and then keep asking for various kinds of favors from you.

Their love is as hollow as their mode of expressing it; a real lover would seldom confess love so explicitly; rather, they often communicate through their eyes. Fake lovers would neither appreciate all that you are doing for them, nor reciprocate your feelings. On the contrary, they would constantly try to hurt your feelings at every given opportunity. Do these people deserve to be your life partners? Definitely not! The faster you distance yourself from such people, the quicker you would be able to find true love.

So what is true love? True love is often unconditional, meaning that neither lover would ask for anything in return of love. A real lover would appreciate all that you are doing for them! If they think that a certain truth might hurt your feelings, they would rather suppress it than hurt you! So as Voltaire says, you should love only those who truly love you, as well as remove yourself from the fake lovers who are nothing but parasites!

2.  Love Quote#2: “The heart that loves is always young“- Greek proverb

Your hair might turn grey, wrinkles might appear on your skin, your bones and muscles might become frail owing to the impact of age, but that shouldn’t affect the depth of your beloved’s love for you! True love doesn’t diminish with passing time; rather it increases with every passing moment you spend with your partner! Moreover, when you are in love, your partner would always see you as the young person they fell in love with in the past, so no matter how old you become, you would always remain young in their eyes!

2 Delicious Food Recipes for Valentine’s Day!

When it comes to Valentine’s Day dinner, many people prefer to order foods from a top restaurant instead of cooking at home, either because they don’t have time to cook or don’t know how to cook! That is okay but since it is Valentine’s Day, you should cook at least ONE thing with your own hands, if only to show your immense love for your beloved.

It can be anything ranging from cookies to cakes, but they should be made in a unique fashion so that your beloved knows that they are meant only for her. Don’t think that the department of cooking belongs only to women; you can impress your partner by making the tables turn and going into the kitchen on Valentine’s Day! So what are the best recipes for this occasion? Well that is what this article is all about!

There are several sweet delicacies you could prepare for Valentine’s Day but I have selected the top few because you can cook only so much within a day! Believe it or not, each of these recipes would result in such a sweet delicacy that your partner would love you to bits after eating it! These recipes are prepared in a way that the delicacies created from them would be soft enough to melt in mouth completely! And even if you have never cooked before, you should be able to prepare at least one of them!

1. Mushy Mushrooms for Valentine’s Day: For this delicacy, you will need the following ingredients:

a) Garlic paste and horseradish: 1 tablespoonful each

b) 1 pound of minced beef

c) 15 mushrooms

d) Salt and pepper for taste

e) White wine: 1 cup

f) 2 tablespoonfuls of chives

Once you have all the ingredients in place, take a bowl, put the beef, salt and pepper, chives, horseradish, garlic, etc., and mix them well! Remove the stems of each of the fifteen mushrooms, then fill each mushroom with this mixture! Once you have stuffed up all the mushrooms, pour white wine over them. Then place the bowl on a pre-heated oven and heat the mushrooms at 350 degrees Fahrenheit! Continue baking until the meat turns brownish in color (normally it takes about 25 minutes for meat to turn brown). You are done! Now serve them hot and see if your partner doesn’t take you to bed immediately after dinner!

2. Valentine’s Day Cream-N-Rum: To prepare this delicacy, all you need is 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk, 1 egg, 8 ounces of rum and 1 tablespoonful of vanilla!

First of all, mix and blend all the above ingredients for a few minutes. Once you are done with the blending, store the mixture in a glass jar! Next, put the jar in your refrigerator and keep it there for the whole night. Voila! This tasty and nasty Valentine’s Day’s drink would have your partner beg for more!

How to Get Ready for a Date

So you have a date in a few days, and you want to look absolutely great for this person and your excitement is spilling over as you try to find things to do and get it all done all in one step.

There are a plethora of things that you can do to prepare for this date and there is definitely no reason why you can not have a great time while you are at it. Whether your style is more modest or bold, or a little bit of both, there is pretty much almost anything that an individual can do to make their date be much better than was expected.

The things that we will go over here are: your looks (hair, clothes, face, body and just general all over appearance), finances, the date itself, emergency resources, and maybe a few more things.

Now, let’s start with appearance: some people go about this differently. Some may choose to lose a few pounds, some will just make a few minor adjustments and be done. It’s basically all up to you and what you are trying to accomplish as far as you appearance is concerned. Typically though, you could buy a new, nice outfit (or just pick out something really nice, that you feel great in from your closet), go to a hair stylist to get your hair freshly done and styled, get a facial or scrub and your eyebrows waxed (if you are a women) or a shave so that you are nice and clean-cut (if you’re a guy).

Be confident and relax, it will help you shine not only on the outside, but from the inside out. Bring enough cash to cover your dinner and any other activities that the date will encompass. Keep a cell phone and let a family member or friend know where you will be going and who you are with in case of an emergency. On a lighter note, pick an exciting place to go – somewhere where you will both have a great time and laugh.

Now just combine everything above, and have fun!

3 Ways To Re-Spark The Magic Back Into Your Relationship

January 11, 2009 by

Are you frustrated that your relationship doesn’t have the magic and romance that it once had? Feel like you’re stuck in a rut and always doing the same things?

You’re not alone. After dating someone for a long time, it’s easy to slip into a stable and comfortable outline. However, you often lose the spark that made your relationship so special in the first place. Not to worry, here are three simple, fun and creative ways to reignite that magic:

1. GIVE THEM A UNIQUE GIFT

Name a Star after your partner. A number of astronomical agencies allow individuals to name stars and you receive formal documentation identifying the star that you have named. Or how about this: Give your partner a magic gift box, and every month place a new small gift in the box for your beloved to discover.

2. SAY “I LOVE YOU” IN A UNIQUE WAY

Take a book that your partner is reading and, using a pencil, underline letters in a section of the book she has yet to read to spell out a secret message of “I love you” or an entire love letter. Doing it just like this. Or for something really unique: You can buy special plants that grow and after 14 days display a message of your choice on the leaf. Cool or what!

3. START GOING ON DATES AGAIN

One thing that separates couples with ‘out of this world’ relationships, is they never stop doing new, fun and exciting things with their partner. In other words, they never stop dating and neither should you.

Spend the day doing fun things: go to the carnival, the beach, have a water fight, stare at the clouds on a grassy hill, go on a picnic, walk in the rain without raincoats and umbrellas, dress up in funny costumes and hit the town. Or how about this: Pick your partner up for a date and blindfold her before driving to a special destination. Try to make the destination something really unexpected like a table set up at the top of a cliff or a dinner on a boat or old-fashioned ship. It needs to be something that will have an impact when she removes the blindfold.

Believe me when I say that NOTHING can rekindle the love, passion and excitement in your relationship
more than going on fun and creative dates together.

5 First Date Mistakes That Men Make

January 11, 2009 by

Here are 5 First Date Mistakes Men Make That End In Heartbreak and How To Avoid Them

Let’s face it, you never get a second chance to make a first impression! That’s why, if you want to take things further with a woman, you need to show her your best on the very first date. And in actual fact, there are 5 things that men consistently do on first dates that totally destroy their chances of seeing the woman again, and the worst part is they think they’re doing it right!

SO…Avoid the following 5 mistakes to increase your chances of success on your first date:

MISTAKE #1 — BUYING GIFTS

Bringing chocolate or flowers on a first date isn’t the best idea – especially if you’ve just met the woman! She’s there to get to know YOU. Women are always asking themselves “what does THAT mean?” And in this case it’s, “He bought me flowers because he likes me, but he doesn’t even know anything about me yet! A little suspicious in my opinion.

MISTAKE #2 — BEING MR. SERIOUS

When in the presence of a potential date, men often become boring, instead of keeping up the friendly vibe they have with their friends. They won’t make jokes or laugh with the woman, they won’t play around like they do with their friends and they generally take things a little too seriously. Why do men change their behavior around women, often without even realizing they’re doing it? Because they fear losing their only chance with the girl of their dreams, they try and play the safe side, which results in a “Mr. Serious.”

MISTAKE #3 — CONDUCTING AN INTERVIEW

When men become “Mr. Serious” they often fall into “job interview conversation mode.” Make sure you reserve questions like, “So where do you work?” or “How many brothers and sisters do you have?” for the future, after you’ve already had a lot of fun and made the sparks fly. Instead, talk about your hobbies, interesting stories and fun stuff. Avoid anything too deep for a long period of time. On a first date, it can make things a little depressing. Talk like you’ve known each other for years (as if you don’t need to do the awkward 20-questions quiz.) Of course you can ask basic questions, but never make it the main focus of your date. Focus on fun.

MISTAKE #4 — BEING TOO NEEDY & DIRECT

Without realizing it, many guys turn their dates off by trying a little too hard. For example: Men will lean into a woman’s personal space, and ask, “so do you like me?” or constantly change his opinion to seek her approval and make her like him. Big mistake. Ironically, it’s leaning back, staying cool and calm, being a little cheeky, interesting, mysterious and comfortable with yourself that actually gets a woman’s attention and keeps her interested.

MISTAKE #5 — GOING TO BORING PLACES

If your date finds the night boring, you’re finished. When it comes to having fun on first dates, nothing is more important than what you do. And while dinners and movies are nice, it’s really hard to leave a great impression in these settings. Why? Because they set a very “proper tone” that’s hard to turn into fun and playful. And unless you’re a super funny, intelligent and interesting guy, dinner and movie dates just aren’t the best place to take your date. Instead, go to fun places like mini-golf parks, carnivals, parks, or even
better, come up with your own unique and fun ideas.

So in essence, while there are many factors to having a successful date, a great date idea really helps you do many of them naturally! Remember, where you take a woman on a first date can be the difference between a great night and a dating disaster! Choose wisely!
